OBSIDIAN

Obsidian
is a volcanic glass stone that vibrates to the number one
and is associated with the astrological sign of Sagittarius
(Melody, 1991).
It is a powerful stone that must be
treated with respect. It
is recommended that you ensure that you are fully prepared
to work with Obsidian because of its intense ability to “bring
to light” the dark and shadowy aspects of our subconscious
mind and our character (Raphaell, 1985).
Obsidian resonates to the energies
of the planet Pluto which is the nuclear reactor of our
astrological system (Raphaell, 1985). Like Pluto energy, Obsidian will “bring
to light” and bring to the surface ego-based ways of
thinking to be processed, cleansed, and ultimately aligned
with the divine in order to assist in advancing your personal
evolution (Raphaell, 1985).
Obsidian has no patience for the ego
and will therefore bring about these evolutionary changes
in a very blunt, matter-of-fact manner (Raphaell, 1985). Because of this energy, Obsidian
has been nicknamed “The Warrior of Truth” (Raphaell,
1985). While illuminating your flaws, Obsidian will
also clearly illuminate knowledge of how to heal and eliminate
those very flaws (Melody, 1991).
Obsidian is truly unique among the
black stones because instead of absorbing light, it has
the ability to attract, contain, and reflect large amounts
of light while maintaining its own power (Raphaell, 1985). Black obsidian can
assist one on their path to becoming a master of light while
operating here on earth in the material plane (Raphaell,
1985). It represents the very highest level of achievement
in this regard.
Obsidian is here to teach us how to
bring more light into a dark world shining light on all
darkened places within the mind and grounding light into
the material plane to assist with manifesting (Raphaell,
1985). It draws our divine
soul qualities into one’s body cleansing away all lower
vibrational energies allowing one to effectively work with
the light (Raphaell, 1985).
Obsidian is good for stabilizing energy
in those who are erratic, overly emotional, spaced out,
or daydream & fantasize
too much allowing those who daydream to bring their ideas
into reality (Raphaell, 1985).
It is also a powerful stone for grounding
your life force energy (chi) into the heart of the earth
(Melody, 1991). It
provides a shield of protection that will stabilize internal
and external energies and prevent one from experiencing physical
and/or emotional harm (Melody, 1991). It can also transform
unloving thoughts that originate from inside of you or which
are directed toward your physical body (Melody, 1991).
Utilizing Obsidian while healing allows
both the healer and the person being healed to have a great
deal of clarity about the cause and remedy of the presented
disease (Melody, 1991).
Obsidian comes in many forms. Here are the forms available
